Last night AH and I talked about the inane subject of being from a city or being a suburbanite. Now I am from a city outside of Chicago that has a population of 100,000. So when people ask where I am from I say I am a city girl and I grew up outside of Chicago. 

So last night, the AH was determined to get me to "admit I am a suburbanite and not a city girl". Badgered me for two hours straight. Finally after he was tired he tells me I need to start walking away more during arguments.

It dawned on me-- He's asking me to DETACH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


Dang-- Alanon works!

something someone told me recently...

when we stay and fight or argue then it is an argument....

if we walk away and let them continue what they are doing.. . it is them throwing a tantrum...

so I have decided I will let them tantrum more... : )

I just love the great insight I get from all of you here.

That is such a rewarding way of looking at conflict. Instead of feeling like you are giving in and letting them 'win' the (usually stupid) arguments, just think of them as two year olds who are having a tantrum. I like that, I can live with that. Thanks.

The more I work this program, the more I find out just exactly what your subject heading says.

DANG IT!! Al Anon DOES work!!

My AH is so baffled these days by the way I react to his provokings. I just sit back and smile.
