I am up for an inerview tomorrow for another job. I really really really really need benefits and more than that I need to be able to take a break. As it is I will not be paid fot the Thanksgiving holiday or for a week and a half over Christmas. If I can get this job I will be in a much much much much better place. First of all it will be nearer my house, secondly it will help me when someday I can ge to rent somehting other than te dump I currenlty live in. Thirdly I will be able to walk my dogs morning and evening rather than once a day. I can't leave them in the yard because my housemates are crazy so that puts an enormous pressure on me. Fourthly I really need benefits. I have not been to a dentist in 3 years, 3 years of no cleanings. One of my back teeth is loose. Fifthly I need a job that will let me go to the doctors and to have benefits so I can afford it! I need cholesterol medication, I need medication for asthma, I need I need I need. Sixthly I need glasses so badly. I can barely see with the dimestore ones I have. I can go on and on and on with the list.
I need this job. I need a break. I need something to look forward to.
I need you guys to pray pray pray that I get this.
I mean this literally. Head into a deep visualization/meditation and visualize having the job- not getting it, not even the interview- actually feel yourself HAVING the job, going to work, getting dressed for this job, etc. in as much detail and with as much emotional moxie as you can muster- really feel it, know it, its all yours.
I want you to take a really deep breath and when you walk in to that interview tomorrow be confident, not nervous and pretend that you have an offer already for a job that pays $5 more per hour with the same benefits. Basically you don't NEED this job because from my experience, I have found that when I seriously want and need the job I don't get it but when I'm casual and relaxed it's a shoe in. Sooo, think about what you have, be grateful for it and imagine there's already a shinier golden ring out there available to you. You don't NEED it but it would be nice. Casual, no stress, you're just doing the interview for fun and to brush up your skills.......
Hope that helps and works for you. Act as if you already have the job when you go in, you're overqualified, not arrogant but self assured. Practice the answers to all the standard questions and have a good one ready that relates to the job.
One thing I have to say is that this board never lets me down. I am always assured of love consideration, concern, patience, support and above all understanding here.
