I have been in Alanon this time around for 5 months.I know its time to work the steps but have a fear of being judged.I am newly married to a recovering spouse of 10years. I have been going to meetings in my area.I also go to AA&Alanon meetings. Thank you Blue eyes
No one will judge you when you do the steps , unless it's you. The steps are a journey of self discovery. A sponsor will guide you through the steps and help you with them, explain them etc. Is there someone at your meetings you feel you could connect with? Anyone that you think "I wish I had what they have"? If so, that's the person to ask, providing they've done the steps themselves. Everyone is in Alanon for the same reason. Everyone started on step 1. There is no judgement.

Golly gee - the room is my sponser so give it a shot.. I live in a magical place / space that does not let me get out a lot and if I did, its a small town and I hear its best to go where one is not going to have to be concerned abt the individual who slips n blows one's annon anyways.. So I do use the room as a sponsor.
I've changed my name several times here I do not even remember who I am - lol - its all about what makes u serene. We do do the steps here, traditions and one can not help but to hear the slogans in chat. It's at times not easy, however, its about the same with the room as a sponsor.
I do encourage you to do what u know u need to, take this past few weeks, we have right at covered the traditions and are getting ready for another aspect of alanon teachings, and if I get out of line, as I am want to do, someone will say 'what r u thinking' to me and say it gentle like, not mean, however, it is meant ya know what I mean blue eyes?
Hang in and be love until u can find u an irl sponsor if u want, however, do keep coming back. The simplicity and joy and serenity of the program will transport ya past everything u ever thought u thought and back to love again. Regards getoverit
