I've spent many hours trying to define to myself the life I want with my husband, I had an experience today, that demonstrated it loud and clear.
I work in Home Health and I went to the home of an older German couple. They'd been married 61 yrs, and had met during the war with only the clothes on their backs. The woman had terrible anxiety and some pain, she was moaning a lot and complaining. Anyhow, when I asked what her H's name was, she looked at him and got the biggest peaceful smile on her face as she said, "Pappy, Schatzi, my____ (his name). " He smiled at her, and the love in thier eyes said it all. That's what I want. In my marriage, up until now anyhow, I was incapable of such love. I hope through experience, counseling, and Al-Anon that I may be so fortunate to have a love like that someday.

I too, hope to develop that kind of love with my husband. How wonderful that after 61 yars of marriage those two people feel the love they always had. Bless them!

I believe it can happen.I have been reunited with my first Love of 30yrs.We are married now.He is a recovering AA of 10 yrs.We still feel the Love we never lost it after all these years. Blue eyes
