Have you ever noticed how when you're doing the right thing everything seems to just magically fall into place? I had the garage sale last weekend (I'm still suffering from carrying all that heavy stuff out) and I sold almost all the big items that I wasn't going to take anyway. I swear! I would say I wish someone would come along and buy _____ and within an hour someone did. If you all remember the car I let the a use and ended up picking up at the impound with 3rd and 4th gears missing.... I put it up for sale for $500 and someone agreed to buy it on Friday at the asking price AND said that the transmission problem is just a simple linkage problem that is very easy and cheap to fix. I still have an indoor air conditioner to sell and am contemplating selling all the furniture and replacing it with new stuff from the last sale's proceeds. There's a great habitat for humanity thrift shop near the new place and they always have really nice furniture cheap. So my dilemma now is have another sale or donate and be done with it. All together I will have made $900 which will help tremendously with the move. On top of that, I sent a letter to the current landlord asking if he would let me pay partial rent this month (560 instead of 825) and I would be out by the 21st (my move in date is 8/10 for the new place) and he agreed~! I will be 10 minutes from the beach and about 25-30 from Myrtle beach. I am really starting to look forward to the move despite the agonizing work in the heat and humidity. Apparently, I'm doing exactly what I'm supposed to be doing. My latest dilemma with the A is whether to tell him where I'm going and the new number or not. Also his mother and I are good friends and if I didn't tell him I couldn't tell her either. I'm still debating this one.
That is awesome news about the yard sale working out so splendidly. If it wasn't a nightmare full of troubles to have the first one, why not do it again to see how much more $ you can make? For me, I am realizing it would be a nightmare to have a yard sale so I've decided not to do it. I have already given a box of my clothes that I no longer wear to AMVETS and am going to unload some more stuff of the kids to Goodwill. My FIL is going to help me haul big stuff to the fleamarket to sell and then all I will have left is my AH's clothes & junk. I plan on packing all of that up and putting it in the storage shed to get it the heck out of my way. Pain in the butt but gotta be done.
I don't know what to tell you as far as your MIL goes. Maybe you could talk to her about it and feel her out on the subject. Maybe at least you could give her the phone number so y'all could talk....and if you AH gets the number, don't answer, have his number blocked, change your number and don't give it to her again. Is he still in jail??? If so, you don't really have to worry about it right now. Ride that wave as long as you can. :)
Glad to hear some positive outcome to the sale. Have a great day.:) Sincerely, QOD
