wisdom to know the difference

i have been getting these moments of enlightenment lately.

thoughts that come to my mind that are as real as the setting sun or a full moon night.

recently i said to self, '' i like my privacy. i don't want to give it up.''

i have been dealing with the defect of isolation,
and,
as quick as i had that thought to myself a power greater than me said,

''you don't have to give up your privacy, PRAY FOR THE WISDOM TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE between privacy and isolation."

For me, "solitude" is what I treasure (always have). This can be a slippery slope into isolation for me. That's such a great insight Jewely, to pray for wisdom to know the difference.

I've always loved solitude, too. My fantasy (since that's the subject in other threads!) when I was younger was to live in a very rural place -- no close neighbors, etc. The only problem is that I started realizing I tend to be much happier when I'm forced to have contact with people, even on a casual level. I finally realized I easily become a hermit left to my own devices, and for better mental health it's good for me to live where I have no choice but to be around people. I have the best of both worlds now -- I live in a little neighborhood where everyone's friendly but not intrusive. Wish I could transport you here, Maresie!

Sounds like some beautiful self acceptance!
I know I can take any of my characteristics and easily place judgement on them.
Take it easy is another nice slogan....take it easy on ourselves.
For today, let it be simple...you like privacy.
Thanks for sharing.
Peace, Fifi
