Hubby is back home from the hospital safe and sound. All went well with the surgery. They removed all the hardware (trust me I made sure) and put a cast on. The cast is a little higher than we thought it would be. We're guessing that the bone fractured a bit when they took the rods out. That was not unexpected. But the surgery was quicker than I thought.
We had a few glitches with the medivan. It was late picking us up at home and the hospital. He we are waiting in 95 degree heat in the shade. Serenity prayer kind of left me! Then when he went into surgery he wasn't completely out before they began taking the staples out! The anetistist (sp?) told them to back away from the table! But he woke up very easily.
We're home and he's resting comfortably (w/lots of pain meds in him, but not too much) and he had his favorite food: PIZZA! I'm getting ready to take a nap. Pipers Kitty for some odd reason has decided to be outside in this weather. She's a black kitty. But there's lots of shade. Thanks for all your love and prayers. It always helps.
Much love and blessings to all.
Live strong, Karilynn, Hubby and Pipers Kitty

So happy you all made it through such a tough day! I hope the recovery goes well, too. Keep drinking that ice water and stay cool and make sure to do a little something sweet for you. Love and prayers right back to you, Fifi
Thank goodness it's over and he's back home! People get well so much better at home.
Just think, a year from now you'll look back on this and shudder :D and also hopefully give thanks it's all behind you both!
My front deck is 30" up off the ground, just big enough for my cat and dogs to crawl under and get a break from the heat. I've had to crawl under a few times to rescue a baby turkey who got lost, and it is REALLY filthy but oh so cool. Animals know just where to go. If the temp goes above 90 again today I'm going to go take a nap with them.
I have been thinking about TIm today, and I am glad to know the surgery is finished, and that it was successful. Pizza huh? Sounds good to me. I haven't had a piece of pizza in years...maybe for supper tonight. With anchovies!!! Yes!
Love to ya,
Diva

Glad surgery went fairly well, and that hubby is home with you. I'm sure he is thankful he has such a good nurse! Pizza.....hmmm.....you can be my nurse any time you want to....I'm having my hand surgery in late August! And, Kari, I KNOW you would call Keith Urban and have him come over and sing to me to get me well. Woo-hoo! Keeping you in my prayers, as always. Love in Recovery, Becky1

I'm glad you are through this. You are such an incredibly strong person. I am hoping things get calm for you now an d you have a time of well earned peace. I also hope your job is going to be ok because I know they were not necessarily that sympathetic to you before.
