I was just wondering, did anyone attend the Music City Roundup, for AA and Alanon, in Nashville, TN these past few days? I was lucky enough to attend (another lady from our home group cancelled and I got her spot), and I really enjoyed hearing the AA and Alanon speakers talk about their experiences.
It was a huge success, with a gazillion or more (maybe a bazillion? LOL) people there. One thing that struck me was that with all those AA people in recovery who were there, there were that many fewer people who were not out drinking and driving on the roads, which was a comforting thought.
That's a true observation about the reduced numbers of drinkers and when the manufacturers, distributors and point of sale people get with the program the numbers may decrease even more!! LOL They don't like that suggestion and the local Liquor Board Chairwoman once came up with the idea that I am a prohibitionist. "Only the ones that have the addiction and who have huge life problems am I concerned about", I replied. I don't need to dodge the non-drunk!!
Glad you got to the Music City Roundup. Conventions are real good spiritual growth times and places. We are considering the International coming up.
