Our beloved sweet Tea did a post earlier asking what are some of our favorite passages from readings were (look on page 2). Well here I am better late than never! lol
I've been doing some rethinking about my life, etc. I'm not trying to dwell on the past or project on the future. I'm just trying to reexamine parts of my life and seeing what lessons I can draw from those experiences.
Today's daily medidation (June 14) from The Promise of a New Day by Karen Casey & Martha Vanceburg has hit home. Here are just a few lines:
"Self-acceptance is mandatory if we are ever to experience the sweetness of serenity. The acceptance must be whole and unconditional, not selective. We are who we know how to be at the moment, nothingmore. "
Hmm... sounds like it was made just for me today. I did the best I could at that moment, good or bad. That I need not beat myself up for my past mistakes, but learn from them. That if I do the best I can each and everyday, I will be okay.Enjoy your day.
Love and blessings to you all and your families.

It's your life. Take no prisoners. You will have it your way.
"I did the best I could at that moment, good or bad." I love that, and for me that allows me to leave the past behind, just where it belongs, I can look back, but I musn't stare. Thankyou for that K.
I am learning to look at my past mistakes with more forgiveness and acceptance as well; because I understand now that I was living life with the tools I had. Now that I'm putting more tools in my pouch I can look back with more acceptance of who I was then and who I am now and be happy about who I'll be in the future. That total honesty I agree must happen in order for true healing and recovery to take place. So on days when I get those twinges of pain about the future I will remember "Total Acceptance" and be little more gentle with myself.
Have a blessed day and Peace to you, Pipers, and hubby, Twinmom~

Thank You!! I have been so focused on accepting others I forgot that I also have to accept myself and right where I am. Crazy or not, this is me and there is a reason (or many) for why I am right where I am. I love me and I need to take care of myself! This was a great post! Thank you!
MISTAKES? I NEVER make mistakes!! LOL. The way I look at it, you can't change what has been done, only learn from it and know not to do it again. :) I am learning EVERY DAY.. HEHEHE. Sincerely, QOD
