Starting Step One

I am ready to start working the steps.  I have a wonderful person to be my sponsor, however she hasn't been active in AL-Anon for about 15 yrs, so she is not really sure how we go about it.  Is there a specific way or a written guide?   Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Lou

Usually sponsors do what their own sponsors did with them. That's how we learn...we just pass on what was given to us by others who came before us. Lots of people use Paths to Recovery, there are questions after each step for thought and discussion. There is also a Sponsorship pamphlet that you might want to pick up at your local meeting if you don't already have it. Have fun!!

I agree with Kis,,,the Pathways to recovery is an excellent book and guideline. Each sponsor is different, and each sponsee is different. As we say in Alanon there really isnt a right or wrong way, it is what works for you, and what pace you want to go at. The willingness to start is truly step one!  Good Luck, and I am sure it will all fall into place in good time.
