This morning I read the daily reading for Courage to Change pg 157 - I'm sure I have read this page before, but it never really hit me. The reading was talking about Step 3 - turning our will & lives over to the care of a Higher Power. This was the sentence that really hit me
"Once I have accepted that the destructive presence of another's alcoholism has affected my life, I need the benevolent influence of a Power untouched by this disease.
I guess I never really thought about it - But how awesome that the One that I go to for my strength, courage, hope & power HAS NOT been affected by this disease.
What a comfort that is.
No matter how many times the A's in my life relapse, say hurtful things, harm themselves or me, no matter how much it seems that this disease is winning the battle - My HP remains forever untouched, unblemished, undamaged by this disease. This disease takes none of my HP's courage, hope or love away -
How reassuring.
Anyway, just wanted to share that with ya'll

Thank you (((Rita))) for that share, I'll have to check out that passage today. It is amazing that the one I gather my strength and courage from has been completely unaffected by my A's disease. That means I'm seeking out sane wisdom and guidance, its very comforting to know that.
