profanity in f2f...decision

I have given a lot of thought and prayer to this subject today and have made the decision to hold a group conscious meeting tonight on the subject.  If all agree the welcome which is read at the beginning of the meeting will be amended to the following....

The sharing of your experience, strength and hope is valuable to the group.  Please preface your share by stating your first name and keep your shares to a maximum of five minutes to allow ample time for others to share as well.  We ask that you exhibit respect for all present by refraining from the use of profanity, name calling and cross talk during the meeting.

I sure hope that sounds right cause I have rewritten it about a dozen times this afternoon.

Sounds good.  Hold a large, sharp object in your hand while you say it!!!!!!

The meeting went well and it was decided to change the wording a tiny bit to say

"attempt to refrain from the use of profanity, name calling and cross talk during the meeting."

Some felt that saying you cannot use profanity in this meeting might not sit well with some newcomer's that are so tied up in knots that they can't think straight and are trying to get things out in a share and in the process slip up and use profanity. We don't want to drive anyone away so hopefully this will suffice.

Diva, I stopped carrying my switch blade a long time ago. ROFL

Awesome recovery Barb!!!!

I love the way group conscience works - it can be such a beautiful thing.

And by the way, just in case you need to know - you may have quit carrying your switchblade, but I have a pocket knife I keep in my vehicle (it's a keepsake from my deceased step-dad) AND I know how to use it.

I gotcha ya back, Sista - just let me know.

Diva, you are too funny - of course now my Secretary may call the Employee Help Line since I probably look like a fool laughing at my computer and practicing taking a few swings with my blade!! - lol
