As we approach this Memorial Day here in the US, please let us take a moment to remember what it is really for. It is not the unofficial start to the summer season. It is not about the sales. It is not about the picnics, barbques and what not.
It is about remembering those who have given their lives in the armed forces so that we can remain free. It is about remembering the fallen, from the past, the present and (heaven forbid) future conflicts. My father was a veteran. While he came home safely, many others have not. I will place a flag on his grave as well my uncles. Whether or not you agree or disagree with the polictical situations that require all the men and women serving from all countries, and serving all over the world, please take a moment to stop and remember what a sacrfice they are making. Remember the sacrifice the families are making, have made and will make as long as there is unrest in the world.
From the bottom of my heart,I thank you and honor you. I honor those past who never made it home. Your sacrifice has not gone unnoticed. To all of you serving, may your HP keep you safe from harm. May you be reunited with your families soon. Thank you to your families for raising such couragious and generous souls. Be proud of your military families.
I ask that we light a candle and say a prayer for peace and remember what this day was really meant for. It is called Memorial Day for a reason.
Much love and blessings to all and all the families.
Live strong, Karilynn, Hubby and Pipers Kitty
P.S. There is a site called A Million Thanks. It is not political. It does not take a stance one way or the other. But it is way to thank our troops. www.amillionthanks.org
