I choose to live with my active A. I choose to put up with his jealousy and rude comments. I choose to take up his slack with responsability. I choose not to let it ruin my day or my life. Am I crazy? I make my own happiness. I will not let my A control my happiness!
guess I just relly needed to say that this morning.. ha ha I feel so much better already !!!!!!!!!!!!! HA HA
In spiderman 3 the moral of the story was we always have a choice... I thought it was very related to addiction, the spiderman/venom screamed addiction. Spiderman was taken over by this evil black force that brought out his worst qualities but made him feel good at the same time. He had a hard time letting it go and eventually defeated it as his friend defeated the shadow of his father's green goblin legacy. We always have a choice. May sound silly, but it thought it was pretty deep and relevant to addiction.
Welcome to MIP! Do you go to meetings? If not, part of the introduction for the meeting says basically that you can be happy whether the A stops drinking or not. I believe that. I did that too for years and maintained some level of happiness. Many others do it too.
I am only seperated now because the behaviors of my AW (and me) had become abusive and very disruptive to our kids. Just turned to a situation I was unwilling to live with.
Congratulations for taking responsability for your happiness... I wish you as much as you can handle!
Take care of you!

The freedom to have choices is one of the great gifts of our recovery - glad you are choosing to be happy, joyous and free regardless of the actions of the A.
Peace, Rita

Do we always have choices...Is it our choice to love an Alcoholic....I DONT want to love one, I would choose not to....But I am stuck In a place right now...Where I do love him, this is causing me great pain.....
WHY, can I not choose to walk away from him, when I'm suffering....
