I don't know why he is doing this. I work with an A. He is in sales and I am doing light sales. My boss asked me to contact a client to schedule an appointment with one of his clients. I called and scheduled the appointment. I walked over to the A and told him the date and time. He looked at his calendar and said okay. I was out on an appointment today. When I came back my boss asked to see me. My boss said that the A said I never told him about the appointment. I told my boss that, that was a lie. I did tell him. I wanted to tell my boss that maybe he has a problem with his memory because the A just told me he got so drunk he bought 2 pants he didn't know he purchased the night before. My boss assured me that I was not in trouble. Trouble!??? This is BS and they both know it. They are both into alcohol and drugs. I went back to my office and the A walked over and asked where I went. I told him the company. He then asked how I got the appointment. I told him through a friend. He then asked how it went. I said it went well. This is why I started my own business. I wanted to take it slow before diving in. I think HP is giving me a shove. I want my children to see me being the best I can be in all areas of my life. I will NEVER dumb myself down to make someone else feel okay.
I would second that suggestion to document, document, document. In dealing with difficulties in work it is always better to have written verification that you have done your part. Even if it is written on your desk calendar - appt schedule w/ XYZ company for 5/4 @ 2:00 pm notified Bob & Ann via phone & email.
For me, CYA is the name of the business in working for the Government (State) and it is always best to be sure your side of the street is swept.
Hope that the situation improves soon.
Peace, Rita

I will 3rd that motion of documentation. I worked with a boss whom said it was OUR job to make him look good. (I too am in retail.) The guys always covered for him. But eventually I stopped covering for him. Any problems he had with customers I told them nicely that since I wasn't a manager, I unfortunately couldn't help them, but I could refer them to the store manager. Everything he asked me to do I documented. I actually kept a journal. So when the store manager called him on his behavior and he tried to use me as an excuse, I had it in my book of when, where and what he asked me and what I did or did not do. I was not about to take the blame for this guy's screw up.
Sometimes we look for these huge signs from HP and we don't get them. Instead we get the little ones that kick us in the right direction.
Love and blessings to you and your family.
