Good morning my sweet family. Well tomorrow is hubby's surgery. The closer it gets, the harder I have to try not to get uptight. I have to turn him over to the very good doctors and HP. Like the night I told him to leave when he was drinking I have to detach a bit. Hard not to know what is on the other side until it comes. But I have to believe that all will be well. We are starting a new journey, and it will be a grand one.
I know we have done all we can do to get ready for this moment. Right now he is outside on the patio practicing in the wheelchair. (He has promised me he won't take the cat and himself for a ride down the long hill! - yet) We have a few little things to take care of this afternoon and then we will relax with a good movie and some Can't beat that on a damp day. He surprised me last night when I came home from work by hanging some new lamps and a picture in the bedroom. He's trying to squeeze every moment in he can before he's confined to bed for 3 months. I'm still working on that trout pond idea for the bedroom.
Please keep us in your prayers and good thoughts. I will probably be post later in the week. Thank you all for your love, thoughts and prayers. As always you are held dearly in my heart.
Much love and many, many blessings to you and your families (pets too).
Live strong, Karilynn & Pipers Kitty

I pray that your HP will be there with you and your husband holding your hand giving you strength and love. And that he will be there guiding the hands of the doctors whom will be performing the surgery.
((((((((((Kari))))))))), as always I am touched by your amazing attitude. You are such an inspiration! I am praying for you to be filled with peace and for your hubby's surgeon's to be filled with wisdom and skill. I pray your hubby will not be fearful and his pain will be minimal, with a better outcome than he could ever have hoped for........knowing his HP is in total control. I will be looking forward to hearing from you here. Take good care of you!!
Love and many blessings to you (and pipers kitty, too), Lexie
You and yours are in my thoughts and prayers. I love how you are trying to take it slow and calm. The worry and upset over how things will go, never really effects how it goes, just makes us crazy.
Please keep us informed of the progress, and know we are here for you and your whole troop.
Take care of you!

Your post was an inspiration. I will keep you and hubby in my prayers. Prayers for the doctors and nurses who will be taking care of him. Sounds like you two have a good day planned for today. I wish hubby a speedy recovery. Pipers has a big job ahead being a comfort kitty. I know Pipers will do a wonderful job. Keeping good thoughts for all of you as you begin this journey. love, rosie
Praying that my HP will be there with you all, guiding the surgeon's hands. I don't loan my HP to just anybody, ya know! ;) Many warm and loving thoughts, and lots of TLC to you all! Love Ya!
Deblilyn has a valid point. You might want to ask for something non narcotic. But also Debilyn, if he is not on pain killers for a long period of time it should be okay. It's the people like me who would take them for years and then tried to get off of them. As long as he takes them exactly like he should he should be fine. I will be praying for you and your husband ^i^ Lots of love to you both.
You have my prayers and good thoughts (((Kari&Hubby)))
Lamps, and serene settings.... like a pond sounds wonderful.. the kind with a small waterfall..? nice idea. water is calming and the natural sounds are comforting. water has a positive effect healing ... s oothes the mind and relaxes the body.
Lots of *** pillows and blankets that ... help... to rearrange position ... and feel some "comfort."
i listened to classical music and wrote alot. time passed.. i am so glad i had what i did to help with comfort. And for a very loving person, like you are Kari , that cared for me in the beginning of my recovery.
my prayers HP watch over your Hubby that he heals quickly. Prayers for you to focus on what you need for you to remain healthy and balanced during this trying time.
I understand what you mean about people getting stuck on meds.
But he is already stuck, he is A. It is called a medical relapse. There is NO question it is a very real problem.
It makes it terribly hard for the medical profession to have to figure out the priorities, as far as meds, for their patients who are A.
What is very sad, many doctors will not treat A's. Many do not understand or know it is a disease. Some say they do but then are shocked when the A relapses or takes too much of their meds.
My husbands doctor actually dropped him.
I hope, of course you are correct. But it is like pouring one hundred proof alcohol into them, to give them narcotics. I am sure he will get valuim, then a drug for nausea, all kinds of things....
If you expect the miracle...you won't get anything else but. You sound ready and faithful and trusting. I don't think there is any better way to do it. I am grateful for your post cause of you and your husbands walking the talk. My HP already knows that you two (and the cat too) especially are in my heart and head. I personally have experienced many miracles and healing while in this program. You will also. Prayers...of course!! ((((hugs)))) for certain.
Power of positive thoughts -- not a saying I ever subscribed to, but if the rolls were reversed, I'd want my friends thinking good thoughts for me --- so heeeere I go: &grrnt*)hmmpherrkkkk. Be well, sweet Karilynn, and control the things you can with joy and love.
love ya cj

A quick note before we leave. His doctors (all of them) know about his aism, his relapses and his recovery. He has been on pain killers before and hates them. The doctors are amazed that given his level of pain that he doesn't take as much as he should. He is not dually addicted. For that I am very lucky. But when it comes to doctors we do not hide anything. He was given a clean bill of health for his surgery, including his liver enzymes. Nothing but positive thoughts will I continue to think. Miracles can and do happen.
