Sunday, 4/30 at 1:00 pm I will be sharing my story of recovery at the Legacy AA Group Anniversary Meeting, in Pasadena TX (near Houston).
My dear MIP family, please keep me in your thoughts & prayers that I will as always share the message of HOPE that can be found in Al-Anon regardless of the situation with our loved ones who suffer from alcoholism/addiction.
I have tried to spend this past few weeks in prayer and meditation seeking the message that my HP would like for me to share. As always, there have been a few painful distractions, of course, a few reminders of ways that I need to improve my focus on my own recovery. I wonder why it is so easy for me to slip back into old behaviors, as I have said before to let those boudaries be eroded away like the Louisiana coastline.
I see that I will probably always be working on boundary setting skills. In some areas, it is so easy to be jaded, firm, and decisive, but then in others a wet noodle has a strong force than me.
So, as I pack for the weekend, prepare for the trip - I leave the chaos & drama behind - detach with love, turn the matter over to my HP and attempt to focus on the wonderful recovery filled weekend. It is what it is - what will happen will happen regardless - The main thing in doing my self care is to follow thru with my committment to service work - It always gives my recovery a big booster shot to do service work. Probably why my HP already had this planned this way.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts & prayers - I'm so grateful to know that all I have to do is ask and ya'll are there. It is very comforting.
Peace to you & may we all continue to live Happy, Joyous & Free, Rita
