Thanks to a program designed to make this webpage the size of a billboard LOL I can visit once in a while during my 30 day trial. Along with the cool stickers for my keyboard that allow me to see what buttons I am pushing. I wish I could manage to get thru more of the posts,I have not found anything yet to help with the monitor glare and strain it puts on my eyes.
I am still a medical mystery to my doctors, not much I can do about it besides make decisions on what and where I will allow them to poke and prod me. I'm scared of the next step, a spinal tap, I know I can live thru it and it needs to be done, but I am still scared.
I was talking to a woman the other day while she was helping me with some forms to see if I am eligible for some visual impairment training and other things available. I made a comment that sticks with me ... this condition, these programs, doctors and the whole precedure is not what my life is about. She replied I know it's about laughing with your Mom (who was with me). Then she thanked me for being one of the most pleasant and fun interviews she has ever done.
I thank Alanon and you all for a huge part of that, it's the best thing I have found again so far. My life is about living, I may have to do some things that are hard, depressing in order to live, but those things are not my life.
I sure miss you all, or at least being able to see your words any time I want to. I carry little pieces of you in me, words I remember that give me strength and hope. Thank you so much.
So glad you are doing what you have to do for you! I love what you said about how your problems are not your life! Absolutely! Thank you for that.
I was at a conference this weekend. One of the speakers was a Lady who is legally blind (her story is in the 4th edition of the Big Book) She was so inspiring with her story and attitude.
It's good to hear from you again. I hope you get everything you need, however you need it :) I'm glad to know you are taking care of you. By the way, my husband had a spinal tap, it's no big deal. They numb you and you don't feel much at all. Sometimes you get a headache afterward. I hope they can solve the mystery.

I know but a little bit of what you are going thru...a little about the eyes and spinal tap(s) (I have had three.) Yes you will live thru the spinal especially with your attitude. Hold on to that attitude and don't let go. When you get ready for the tap reach out for HP's hand and it will be there. My hand will be with HP's. I like what Christy mentioned about her husband having the tap and it was no big deal. (LOL ...to her.) I can't remember much about mine and I do know that I was afraid also. So very much about being human.
Good to hear from you. I know about those stickers - we've got them on our keyboard too, because my son is legally blind. To be honest, I like them too - everybody should have them!
One thing about alanon - it teaches us that cowering in fear and doubt and secrecy is not the way to go. This carries on to every other part of our lives, doesn't it?
Glad to see your sweet face here. It was a wonderful post. A friend once told me to "replace the word PROBLEM with the word CHALLENGE." Makes one able to hit challenges head on vs. the overwhelming problems that could send me to bed for a week.
Here's hoping they find out what's going on with you. By the way a colleague of mine wears sunglasses to reduce the glare of his computer screen. It seemed to help. Just a thought.
Take good care of yourself.
Love and blessings to you and your family.
Live strong, Karilynn & Pipers Kitty

Sometimes life is hard, other times it's even harder. You keep showing us all how we can still give and share joy with others during those difficult times.
I miss you! You are in my prayers.
((((((((((((LOTS of hugs to you ))))))))))))))))))))
Hope they are able to diagnosis your difficulties soon - should we call that Dr on the Fox show "House" - He always seems to figure out what is going on with patients that other Dr's can't. And hey - he's an addict so I know that's why I like him - geez I guess I better keep coming back - lol --- hoping to make you smile :)
But seriously - I do hope you are better soon - miss you -

I can't imagine how frustrating it is. When I can't find my glasses, I am completely lost and can't see. You have a wonderful attitude. "Attitude is the mind's paintbrush. It colors every situation."
