Well I just got back from my concert ~ Martina, Little Big Town and Rodney Atkins. Wow it was amazing.
So many beautiful (and sad at times) songs. Many of the lyrics remind me of program and of the beautiful people here helping me through my recovery.
It's been a really tough week ~ you know, how life gets in the way sometimes? But it was girl's night out with two of my friends and the concert was amazing.
Heard Blue and the Master's Buckaroo song and "If you're going through hell (which I feel like I am), keep on going, don't slow down, if your scared don't show it, you might get out before the devil even knows you're there."
My life's mission song - Down in the Boondocks. Martina sang Concrete Angel so I just sat there and cried through it. Little Big Town's song "Bring it on home to me" was another tough one to sit through tonight.
But right now, I am grateful for having a program, for being able to feel my feelings, for being able to attend this very moving concert and for all of you to share it with.
Maria

Glad you had a good time and enjoyed your concert. Sounds like a good one, although I never really grew up and have tickets to see Def Leppard and Styx..lol (Rock on!!) It had to be a great way to end the rough week you had. Just breathe :)
love ya Christy

Like Christy, I never grew up either, but I am a little behind you gals. Give me the withered, ancient Stones or Bob Seger or the Clearwater Revival, and I am rockin' forever!!!
Take care Maria.
With love from Diva

(Maria))))...songs have a real impact on me as well. They can be healing, they can make you sad,, they can make you dance etc. They can reverberate old feelings or old times. However I am glad you went, and I too have been to concerts ,,the last one was The Eagles and it was fantastic. I listen to all kinds of music often from the Russian Red Army choir to the Doors and Led Zepplin. Concerts arent just for the young of today, but also for the young of yesterday!
Good for YOU !! I went to see Styx and Foreigner not long ago and that was awesome too.. :) I think part of the experience was the music was so loud you couldnt think about your own problems.
I am glad that you were able to go to the concert, enjoy the music and the company of your friends. Feel your feelings they are yours alone, good or bad.
I am sorry that you are struggling now.
And FOREVER grateful for how you held my hand, dried my taers and lit the path of knowledge and freedom for me.....
Hello from a better place...there is room for you as well my friend
Love Megan

OK, I'm jealous...LOL Seriously, I know what you mean about certain songs and this program...amazing. I LOVE Rodney Atkins....and the song, If You're Going Thru Hell.....I play it really, really loud......gets rid of some of my pain. And Concrete Angel,,,,,that song gives me chills.....and I think a lot of us can identify with that little girl....if not from when we were children, then from what we have been thru after we are grown...."Thru the Wind and Rain, she stands hard as a stone"...yeah, I can identify with that. Sad, sad song, tho. Great for your girl's night out! Love in Recovery, Becky1
As I read all your replies, this second verse of "If you're going through hell" came to mind. Funny, I didn't hear that verse the other night and here you all are.
"But the good news Is there's angels everywhere out on the street Holding out a hand to pull you back up on your feet The ones that you've been dragginig for so long You're on your knees You might as well be praying Guess what I'm saying"
Kari ~ the man behind me wished he didn't have to pay money to see me singin' and boogein' (lol)
Becky ~ you and I will have to replace our speakers alot. I'm told I'm gonna blow em out because I play the music too loud. I don't have a thumpin' car yet though.
Bubba ~ thanks for loving me when it's was tough to show myself love.
Mac ~ here's your lifetime open invitation, you are welcome to all my girl's nights out
(((((Megan))))) ~ thank you sweet lady. I sure have missed you a bunch around here lately. Come back and share all your parts of heaven with us. You are so deserving.
MyCrappie ~ thanks for holding onto to that MarINa with your fins She was a lil unsteady for awhile there.
Lilms, Tammy, GG and Diva ~ I propose that we have all of our favorite artists (I too love yours as well as mine) to an all day concert for us MIPers and then the MIP bus can pick us up (oh wait, that dang bus still ain't fixed yet) have to be the MIP plane and bring us all together for a day of healing, laughter, loving, and living.
Hugs for Caro, Christy and Jerry, thank you always for your loving support and encouragement ~ I'm glad you are my angels.
With healing tears, YourMaria

Better late than ... Maria, I'm just catching up here at the board, and wanted to say I'm happy you take yourself out to concerts on a regular basis. I know you get a kick out of it all, and if it's a kick you need, well, here's another ((((troutkickinmarina)))) love, pw
