The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
It's funny the way time works for me, its duality. On one hand, it seems like just yesterday when I crawled on my knees into that first recovery experience. In others it seems a life time ago.
In 3 years I have conservatively attended 500 alanon meetings, many open AA meetings, Big Book study group, 10 AA/Alanon conferences, District meetings, workshops..... read so many of our CAL books and many non-CAL books on recovery and spirituality. Whew.....there's the part that makes me feel like its been 10 years. Where does all that information go? It is all in my heart.
Al-anon has truly become my way of life. And it is an absolutely wonderful way of life. I love and am loved by so many wonderful people all over this world. What a miracle for someone who comes from where I come from.
Next month I will be tellling my story at a Speaker meeting in "the big city" of San Antonio. I am nervous about it. But I am also so excited. I will carry all of you with me when I go up to that podium. Just like I do when I go everywhere, every day. I just got a vision of the commercial for the cell phone company that has the hugh network of support crowd following our cell phone using hero around. LOL
3 years! Tremedous growth. Long way to go. I will keep trudging on this trail of Happy Destiny.
This weekend I will attend the conference which is my birthplace, a conference called Spiritual Unity on the Frio. I am so looking forward to it. I so need it as much today as I did 3 years ago.
(((David))), Wishing you a wonderful alanon birthday. I always enjoy your posts, you can hear your growth in them and it is inspiring for me, a newcomer to alanon.
Wish I could be there. You absolutely HAVE to tell the screw story, right? I love speakers that make me laugh and Lord knows that'll do it. It shows everyone that there is laughter in the midst of all the chaos. Good Luck David!! Love you my friend, Christy

I have to call bs on one thing... "Where does all that information go? It is all in my heart." That is only a half truth. You sprinkle that information all around you.... to the benefit of us all.
Thank you for being here, and sharing your journey with us.
Take care of you!

Congrates (((David)) Service work is a wonderful thing surly keeps us focused on program. I remember One of my leads (As a Speaker) I did some homework. .I looked in the back of the ODAT for topics I wanted to share my experience about. Like if it was anger I would speak of a time I felt this and how I applied things I have learned. This lead was one of my best experiences of all for I put things in perspective. I out lined things that stood out in my recovery.Bless you and Happy Birthday love Sharon/angel
