Where do I begin? I had a stroke on Good Friday, I learned many things that were wrong with my health during my time in Hospital, blood pressure and other things like cloistral triglycerides ,Checking for diabetic few other things. My world has changed upside down and inside out. The doctor wanted to put me in assistance living. For I have lost movement in my left leg. I refused ,fore I have choices. I have a hubby that has taken good care of me. But most of all I have my wits. I can think normal. I have gratitude for I can type this and I can use my arms. Therapy will be soon, and I will do as directed and push myself to get around better. I have a strong will or what you could call stubborn, I will not let this get me down. My emotions are out of wacky at times, adjusting to meds and the big change. I an Grateful for your prayers even when some of you did not know it was me. When our dear friend posted it on board for Prayers. I am grateful for Alanon for even though things are calmer in my life today, I had alanon teaching to get me thru everything. I can use slogans and the principles in all aspects of my life. You know when I found MIP it was a door for me to meet wonderful people like your selves. I have received flowers and cards from people I have never met in person. But our Spirits touched and I am so grateful for all of you. I understand sometimes things can be hard to accept just as I had the road of acceptance again with health issues. But I believe my HP (God), will take me One step at a timeOne Day At a time. Thank you everyone for your prayers, I was amazed how you all loved me even when you did not know it was me lol .Before closing I would like to say I have many Alanon ligatures from the forum thru the years. I have bin in Alanon a long time it is my life line. If you get a chance to read a page from the forum. You will see how many years our program has worked for many with our loved ones drinking or not. There is Hope. Sometimes with our loved ones getting sober, sometimes learning to live even if they are still drinking. Hope is a inside Job.I hope all of you take care of your body, mind ,and spirits. We have three parts of self one can carry the other. That is my hope for self that my spirit can carry my thoughts and body at this time in my life. Bless you all and Thank you for loving me. Sharon/angel
What a wonderful example of using Alanon in all aspects of your life. I have a great admiration for you. Keep up the positive attitude and stay strong. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Such a wonderful post. You are such an inspiration to us all. Having hope and never giving up is the key to a longer life. You're already 90% there in your recovery. I've always liked the saying "Replace the word Problem with the word Challenge. Problems seem overwhelming. Challenges you can meet head on.
Take good care of yourself. I will keep you in my prayers as always. Love and blessings to you and your family.
Live strong, Karilynn & Pipers Kitty

Sharon/angel ... I'm reporting in today :) ... I told you yesterday by private message why I can be sure to remember to pray for you each day.
Just wanted to say that I did remember till today (lol) what I said yesterday. I'm at home today preparing for my 2 neurological tests tomorrow. I am thankful to be able to report I'm still okay as far as I can tell ... but I'm still a little anxious about what the tests may show even though my neurologist said she doesn't expect to find anything wrong, just needs to rule things out.
You inspire me to keep my focus on what *is* rather than on what happened in the past or what might show up in the tests tomorrow. Thank you so much and bless your heart for being here for others and for me when you have so much extra and new to deal with in your own life.
I love you in the special way that we love one another in Al-Anon.
