simple words about detachment

So often people are confused about what detachment means and today I read from Hope for Today a few simple words about detachment that will help me.

"Detach from my problem and attach, instead, to my Higher Power."

That's simple.  I can do that.

I like that guarantee, Maria123! A little humor needs to be a part of almost everything we do, I guess. Detachment is very hard for me. Believe me, I've tried it but now that I feel I am an aid of sorts in his recovery, I just can no longer do that. I have yet to be to an Al Anon meeting aside from the family groups in his Rehab. I NEED to be in control. I'm his mother. That's my JOB.

Leave it to you Swanie for the great words of wisdom no wonder your my sponsor!!! Even though it may say I am a newbie it's cause my sn I had to change cause I could not sign in on the board but I have been a member for 2ys this past Feb. 06 Maria we never can add to many eggs to our baskets can we our tools to the trade...Thanks for the post love ya cloudysmile
