Hello - Today I took my A husband to rehab. Glenbeigh. I think I might be in shock. I can't believe he finally took this step. I can't talk to him for 48 hours. I don't know how long he is going to be in there. They said they customize each program for each person. I wish I would have gotten a ball park. I love him and I am so proud of him for taking this step. At 4pm he said, "I will go to detox if you find me a place." I said, "ok, give me some time." I called to see what my insurance covered. By 5pm we were on the road. I had to seize this opportunity. I told the lady on the phone that we had to put him in today. He would change him mind if we have him a chance. He has in the past. I can't believe this is happening. Yet, I am happy that he has taken the step. I am going to my personal shrink tomorrow. I know that I have to take care of myself. I could use as many friends as possible.
Welcome to MIP!!! This message board is a great place to start your journey towards recovery for yourself. Here you will find the love and support you need.
Sounds like you are in the right place. I came to alanon when my husband first sobered up - I came because I thought it was what I was supposed to do to support him. I stayed because I realized that *I* needed support. Welcome.
HI cac , I hope u find meetings for yourself quick , u will need to recover from this disease too and sobrity is not the answer to all of your problems . In Al-Anon u will meet people who understand and can walk u thru this , never ahve to go thru anything alone again . you will make new friends and for me it was the best way to support my husb . learn about the disease and how it has affected me and change what needed to be changed . good luck Louise
Hi Cac, So glad to hear that you and your hubby are starting your journeys on getting better. It is a blessing I know it wont be perfect but it still is a blessing...Take care, Busbe
