Last night, I attended my first Naranon meeting. It went very well. There was a group of about 20 of us and anyone w/ 6 meetings or under went to another room w/ a leader. There was a total of 5 of us...and everyone had a different situation. After the leader told us her story, I was the first to go. I didnt even get one sentence out and I burst out crying. Whats ironic is that AH IS getting help...but it just hurts so much. It made me feel good when the leader mentioned that when they have a sponser they are serious. AH talks to his sponser everyday. The meeting last an hour and a half. The one I attended to takes place every tuesday night, so I def will be attending at least one a week.
Side note: AH had a motorcycle meeting last night and he HAD the willpower!!!! He mentioned to the pres of the club that he gave up drinking...the pres was announcing about everyone not drinking b/c AH wants to be a better man. He mentioned that he doesnt expect everyone to give up drinking on his part..HE needs to have the willpower! I was so proud of him last night!
WOOHOO! Glad you went to your first meeting. Nothing like a f2f, it makes things a bit more "real". It's nice to see faces, and know that you are not alone. I love the fact that you are so loving and supportive of your A. Remember to shout from the rooftops for yourself. Pat yourself on your back for working on your recovery. Self-love is very important on your journey too.
Love and blessings to you and your family.
Live strong, Karilynn & Pipers Kitty
