We actually had a car for the Pinewood Derby, lol. One thing I didn't mention is that we were missing one of the nails that hold the tires on. They are so strict that we couldn't use just any nail, I thought well we'll make due some how. We had place the 4 tires and 3 nails in this little tin the day we cut the car out. The tin sat on the table for about a week. When we went to assemble it I opened the tin and said to my son "did you find the other nail?" He replies no, I told him there were now four nails in the tin. He says "Now that's COOL!" -- and I agree. I've often heard the HP gives you what you need when you need it...and we really needed that nail LOL.
Now you know us alanoics can't live without the drama so at 9 pm the night before the derby, I decide to give the wheels one last spin only to find that we'd super glued two of the wheels stationary. LOL I wanted to die. My brother is a wonderful guy....he got us rolling again by 10 pm.
I wish I knew how to add pictures here because I am so proud of my son. He won a few heats, but eventually was eliminated and wondered off to make eyes at the little girl selling soda. hehehe
I really need to remember not to stress about things so much -- let them come together how they come together. I couldn't have made that day turn out better than it did.
I want to remember this post today ..when I feel down, I can chuckle over this and know that if God is concerned about a tiny nail for a pinewood derby car ... surely He is concerned about me and mine.

Glad it all worked out for son. My two step-sons did pine wood derby's for about 6 or 7 years! Both boys wound up winning the whole shebang! their 2nd year as webeloes. Great fun.
Start getting ready for that Raingutter regatta! (another favorite!)
