hi, im new here. my name is amy. my husband is a addict/ with bipolar disorder. we are in bancrupcy so we dont lose our home. i have been feeling very resentfull, hateful and depressed. i just want to start healing. i am reading the melodie beattie books codependent no more and journey to the heart. my husband has been sober 4 days now. hes sleeping alot. he has lost so many good jobs. i resent being the only one working. iv lost my health insurance. he is going back on disability for his bipolar. he was abusing precribtion meds. like addrall and ritilin and using opiates with them. many times i thought he would die. i know i have to detach. i have neglected myself so much. i dont even feel like the same person i was when we met. its very depressing. just needed to vent. if anyone would like to chat or e-mail feel free. thanks for listening

Hi amy, Glad you are here...first step in taking care of you. Sorry to hear you are going thru a rough time. I found that in the beginning of my recovery I read everything I could get my hands on. I also learned that I was worth taking care of. I could make that choice. After that I learned there were other choices I could make that would help me to heal and feel better.
