Sorry I missed your birthday Becky. I hope it was a happy one, and I wish you many more happy, healthy ones to come.
Yep, I LOVE birthdays too. I will approach a stranger to say, "Today is my birthday!!" I am met with various responses, all the way from none to, "YAY YAY YAY!!! Happy birthday!!" It's the people who wish me a happy one who I know are "birthday" people too. The anniversary of the date of our birth is out most important day...no matter how old we are...

Awwww, thanks guys! I was surprised to come to the board this morning and find this. My birthday went well. Hubby bought me a new computer chair, a little bouquet of flowers, and a card. AND he didn't drink all day on my birthday. Daughter had me over for dinner Wed. night, and met me at the door wearing green nail polish and a green wig! She loves my birthday! She calls me The Greenbaby. Daughter also made dinner, and her sweet hubby joined us. Mine did not. He was not invited, nor would he have gone. He is her stepfather. The table was sat with a "green beer" candle, other votive candles in green and white, a shamrock lei, shamrock stickers on the front of her china hutch, and green tinsel streamers across the top! She made mashed potatoes and parsnips, green peas, Irish Soda Bread, cabbage rolls, and TWO birthday cakes. An Irish Whiskey cake and a regular chocolate/chocolate iced one in case the Irish Whiskey one wasn't any good. It actually was good, couldn't taste the whiskey, thank God. I HATE the taste of whiskey, it's what my dad drank, and what untimately killed him when I was 16. My step grandsons got me some (real!) aquamarine and sterling silver earrings, and daughter and hubby got me a big pot of tulips. My family, daughter included, all chipped in and got me a Kitchen-Aid mixer. Woo-hoo. That thing will be able to be handed down to my daughter. It is awesome! I feel rather ashamed of myself. All this love surrounding me, and the one person who I wish would love me, mostly ignores me. Like he is doing today. And he's drinking across the street again, so I came here. Am getting ready to go to a friend's house. Love in Recovery, Becky1
