HBO documentary- Addiction

Anyone watch this last night?  I thought it was really interesting.  It lasted about 1 and 1/2 hours.  I thought it was very informational, don't know if I agree with all of it---I wish they had focused some more on the need to use support groups (especially AA), but I thought all in all it was good.  It was really neat when they showed the brain function of an addict when flashed with .5 second pictures of triggers, they also showed an MRI of a man who had been methamphetamines for over 10 years and put it next to an non-addict MRI and showed the damage that had been done to his brain.

Just curious if anyone else saw it?

a while ago, i saw a program on A&E called "intervention".  it really lays out the reality of an addicts life and the truth that most interventions don't work.

Some cable stations are offering free HBO this weekend as a marketing tool to get new customers.

You can go to the HBO web site & see some of the info or purchase the DVD of the program.

A & E's Intervention series is very powerful. Cold, hard & brutle truth of addiction. Covers different types of addictions. I watch this program quite often. Only wish they would show more about the non-addicts recovery or need for assistance. They talk some about setting boundaries, but not so much about getting help from other resources for the friends/family members.

I watched most of it last night. Very informative. I believe they said there are 14 parts to this series. I am going to check out buying the DVD. Wish I could get my A to watch it, but that won't happen. Good luck to all. Keep praying for us all.

I watch intervention too.  I used to watch it alot, but I don't watch it so much anymore.  My sober AH used to watch with me, but one night it hit him pretty hard and he hasn't watched it since.  He did watch the Addiction thing with me on HBO.  I ahve just found both of these shows really interesting and informative.
