My husband and I have always have an extremely active sex life. During the last 4 weeks when he hasn't been drunking it has all come to a screaching halt. Any ideas?
That's very normal. I'm not sure why their bodies just shut down in that dept but they do. He'll get it all back in a few weeks or a month. It takes time. I know my husband and I had to slowly work that back in. They are self conscious. Just give him time and don't push the issue. Sorry, I wish I had better news :)
I understand that this is completely normal , can last a few months but all will return to sorta normal in time . Shame and guilt on his part could be part of the problem but withdrawl takes a long time to even out . 4 weeks is just a beginning . relax it's not personal . Just keep hugging him and be patient ,no pressure . good luck Louise

In some ways, if he is taking recovery seriously, your relationship will need to start all over. There may be unhealthy or unhappy emotions associated with certain parts of your lovemaking, and he may be avoiding them. It might not hurt to go away together overnight, or shake things up in some other way. Date each other a bit, see what happens.
In my experience this is very normal. Being so used doing everything under the influence it does take some time to relearn facing things sober. I also experienced the other extreme, where I believe he was using sex to make himself feel good (get that rush) again.
A hug or just a gentle, affectionate touch throughout your day may help reassure him, and allow time to work it's magic.
