Hello just wanted to quickly let you all know I am home from the hospital. I had my hyserectomy--they took out only one ovary--it was at least as big as a tennis ball--Fibroma tumor, non cancerous.
In pain, alone, and still dealing with my A, who is struggling to make ends meet at a sh***y motel up the road. I thought I wanted to find a place with him, and now I am not so sure. I am in pain from my surgery, confused. and angry.
By the way, I quit smoking cigarettes the day I went into the hospital. I have been smoke free for 5 days now..Sheeesh! It was necessary due to my health. It hurts already when I cough, so smoking isn't my bag anymore. But the cravings come and go. I have the Nicorette inhaler. Sorry, I know this is not a quit smoking group, but I just need to know if anyone else has been thru anything similar to all the crap I have talked about.
Anyway, I was posting a little clearer minded before, now I am confused. Been thru a lot.
Appreciate any help and keep praying for me.

I've been in about the same situation. Except my alcholic was my husband. If he were only a boyfriend I would have been gone a long time ago. At this point I already had children involved. I went through four miscarriages alone and believing my ah was getting sober. Wasn't the case. At a previous point in my life I was raising a 13 month old and twin newborns when my ah was living in a sleezy hotel because I would NOT allow his addiction into my house. I and my children were way better then that. I also quit smoking cold turkey and don't drink alcohol anymore. Not for any other reason but it just wasn't good for me and who am I do destroy my children's mother. I love them too much to screw myself up. I hope you "detach" in good spirits. I also hope you feel better soon. Quiting smoking is the easy part just like an A, you just make the choice to NOT do it. Good luck ;)
((htchick)) good to know you are allright. please try to keep the focus on you and you will be just fine. With Alanons support I see that it becomes clearer and clearer to me the importance of taking care of myself first. I am much more able to care for others...too, if i make sure i am in a good place in my own thoughts and actions. Congrats on the quitting smoking too!
Please keep us posted. Sending prayers to HP/God for a quick recovery for this (( *"hippietrippiechick." )) from your friend in recovery heres' a ((BiGHuG))))
So glad your here! Keep coming Back~ Keep Looking uP!
