It’s Friday evening of a 3 day weekend. When I got home from work, I got a call from AH who was on the commuter train coming home. He didn’t come home by when I calculated he would (based on when he called). Another hour went by, and I started to what-if. The panic crawled around the edges of my brain. Then I decided I wanted to have a good weekend, and I came up with 3 things I like to do. I went to the mailbox to get a DVD and set about starting a good weekend.
He got home soon after the movie began, and he was pretty companionable.
I am so glad I didn’t walk into despair. I’m grateful to you all for showing me how to change the things I can. Tonight that was my reaction.
Great job taking care of you!! Having a "Plan B" has been an important part of my recovery and reinforces for me that "I am worth it"--I hope you have a wonderful 3-day weekend

I so love taking care of myself now. Have no guilty feelings about it and I am a much better person for my loved ones to be around as a result of taking care of myself first.
