When things go good.....

I feel like I'm getting ready to recite something my mother used to say to me all the time...

There was a little girl
who had a little curl...
Right in the middle of her forehead;

And when she was good,
She was very, very good...
But when she was bad...?
She was horrid!

Anyway....Things are going good.  I've spent a lot of my life thinking I was a magnet for problems - if it wasn't one thing, it was another.  Well, I just finished up my Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice (funny considering my AH is on probation).  The final grades have just been posted and I have finished with a 4.0 GPA and will graduate Summa Cum Laude!  WOW!

Also, I used my tax return to buy a vehicle!  No more sharing with my mother - I have my own and it's large enough to transport whatever my heart desires (I won't be needing to transport anything too large!)  It is a 99 Chevy Tahoe and has the room to carry camping equipment so my boys and I can go camping and if they get into sports like mountain biking or something, there's room for that too!  WHOOHOO!

I'm so very blessed!

AH should be getting off probation in May or June and will be moving here to Wyoming with us - at least that is the plan for now.  He still has his sobriety and is, just for today, devoted to his recovery.

I thought I'd share the good things - for all too often we have so much negativity running around in our lives and losing focus of ourselves can be a very easy thing to do.  I wish you all a wonderful day surrounded with love and light!

Hi Laura

Thanks for the wonderful share.  I have a friend whose life has been blessed with calm waters after many years of trials.... I call her and say "Tell me something good."  and she always does.  Your post reminds me of her.   I wish all those who have something good or wonderful to say would share it, it lifts me up & gives me hope.  There are brighter days!    I celebrate with you the completion of your degree and your new car.

Thank you for sharing !!

Oh what an uplifting post. I am so happy for you. You should be so proud of yourself. That is such an accomplishment.

What part of Wyoming are you from. I live in WY also.

Keep it up and keep coming here.

Doxie

Thank you all so very much for sharing in my joy with me today!  it really has been a magnificent day!

I've had something happen today that I have kept at bay - it wants to bring me down and I refuse to give it power over me - so for this moment, I am winning that battle and will survive this as well.

You all are fantastic and I'm glad I can share with you all.  I'm pretty quiet on the posting as I'm not so sure I have anything to offer to most of the posts shared by others.  You all have spoken so kindly with me and shared invaluable ESH with me and I am truly thankful.

Doxie....As for Wyoming - I am in Hot Springs County....I'd say the most remote place in the state, but I'm sure there are others far more remote than here!

((((((((((((((((Laura)))))))))))))))))))))),

I'm with everyone else. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!! The most wonderful thing is that you are so proud of yourself!!!!!!!!!

I am going to school as an adult now as well and working full-time. It's quite a challenge. I still have a way to go before my Bachelors but I keep plugging away one day at a time.

So happy for you,
Maria123

P.S.  I have a friend in recovery who taught me "boring is good, repeat to yourself, boring is good"  (ha ha) that reminds me of your title "when things go good"  My old habits are to wait for the other shoe to drop.  Not today though
