HI To All, Hav,nt posted for a while, but have been here reading, taking in all i can. Would like to share with you what has happened between my h and myself.for those who remember i threw him out last may, forcing him to the salvation army.WELL,they found him a flat in december, came to stay with me for a week while he sortes out the gas and water etc, then goes ,then comes back again while our daughter visits from ozzy, all this time not drinking a drop, then goes back. Now he has come back again due the the state stopping his dole, been back 1month,now i know its no time at all,but i can only say what i see,he is a different person, back to the polite bloke he was before all the crap of 3yrs, I carnt make all this out, married for 36yrs,33of them not drinking much at all then wham, now after a short time he is back to what he used to be. But i have changed,i know this ,i am just taking it day by day,and not putting my hopes up too high that i will come down with a huge bump. He still says AA was not for him ,but is reading self help books, AAHH all we can do is pray that maybe just maybe one has found his way . Bless you all ollie xxxxxx
That's wonderful!!! I'm so happy for you..and him. My husband was sober a year on the 12th. He has managed to do it himself and did not go to AA either. Don't stop beleiving :)
Mine wrote me the most beautiful poem of gratitude today, I sat and cried for a few minutes and thanked HP for the wonderful gift of sobriety.
take care Christy

It sounds like you are watching a TV serial of "Alcoholism" and that it has become very interesting!! Just watching is mysterious entertainment isn't it. Remember you can turn the TV on/off and switch channels. Don't get into the act!! Drama...ain't it great. It is said that Alcoholism is cunning, powerful and baffling and so I have found out to a much larger degree is Higher Power.
Enjoy your recovery and be ever so grateful!! ((((Hugs)))) to you.
The A I live with at times can be sweet, kind understanding and even funny. At the same time next day he can be mean, vicious, manipulative and lying. I think they are very hard to live with. I can only do it one day at a time. The A I live with is free of alcohol (he is on some medical treatment for his liver) the behavior is still there very much so. In fact in some ways hes meaner... The chaos is still there too.
I am so happy for you and him. Remember to keep taking care of yourself now too.
My A does not drink alcohol anymore, but still has ALL the behaviors. He is so hard to live with. Just today I caught him in another lie. It goes on and on and on. He is mean and vindictive.
But I am going to be ok.
Stay strong hon, enjoy what is happening right now.
Thanks for your share. We learn so much from each other. My AH has been sober for over 20 years but this dry drunk of his has been more difficult to deal with then any drunk he ever went on. He left 2 years ago; don't love you; don't want to be married. I do not recognize the man that I married and the father of my children. Trying very hard to create a life of my own.
Thanks To All who answered my post,i am were i am today because i found this wonderful place,i know i must keep focused on what ive learned here, also be prepared for anything, but im really enjoying the peaceful life at the moment. All i see at the moment is the nice guy i knew 5yrs back, not the lying, sneaky drunk. may we all find peace one day love you all ollie x
