I have been thinking that I am probably just holding on to my A because he's a good fallback which isn't fair to me or him. I have hope for the future of meeting someone someday who is totally into me and treats me like a precious gem not a doormat. I'm so sick of men not doing what they say they will and making excuses and so I'm just not going to deal with that anymore. 1 strike and you're out. I have been scared to be alone but now I'm more hopeful of finding that needle in the haystack someday than of continuing to live on hope that someone will change. I have been down that road before more than once why would I want to go back down that same road when I know it doesn't go where I want to go? I feel like I'm trying to go to Florida and keep getting on the freeway going North!
I find myself wanting to give you the same talk I just gave my daughter. She just broke up with her boyfriend and kicked him out (which was big for her).
So I will.. lol
How bout giving yourself a break and not focus on men? Find your own strength within, find out who you are and what it is you want from this life. It can't be just a man or who the next man will be. There's certainly more to life then that. What are your goals, your dreams? What can you do to make your dreams come true?
How bout working on who you really want to be?
*jumps off motherly soapbox*
love

Actually this was kind of a continuation from an earlier post about whether I still loved my husband or just the idea of him. As for men... I would just like to make some girlfriends to hang out with here but that's complicated and sometimes men are easier to meet and make friends with. I really don't want a boyfriend, husband, etc. I just want someone to hang out with go do things with as friends. Several someones if possible.
Sobering thought? Ever have the nightmare of finding Mr/Ms Right and they leave because of you? I was told no relationships after the alcoholic for two years so that I could get my own life back in shape and clean up in me what needed to be cleaned up. Who I was and what I did wasn't so pretty. Besides if my expectations are so ridgid there is no Ms right. She would never measure up after a period of time.
