I went to a mini convention at the weekend to celebrate 60 years of al anon it was great. I saw lots of al anon memebers that i only really see at conventions. My ABF slipped over amonths ago and is back out there after 9 months sobriety. I have been doing o.k and have not been in contact leaving him to do as he pleases. It hurts that the disease has him again but I am powerless. Yesterday at the convention my Hp made me realise that my focus has slipped again on to him. I got so much out of the convention as usual. I am so really really grateful to louis for starting this fellowship. Thanks to yesterday I once again understood its not personal he is ill he is hurting himself the most. I have to focus on my recovery and wellbeing and let go and let god. Have any of you had anything to celebrate the anniversary of our fellowship ??

Not anything formal. I live in a large metro city and we have really good weekend conference here on a regular basis. It seems like at least 1 per month, sometimes more. But nothing to specifically celebrate alanon's 60th birthday.
In sept our assembly is planning a special supper to celebrate our 60 yrs of this program we are showing one of the few videos from the archives on the early days Lois and Bill were at stepping stones where they held picnics and special celebrations .. Louise
It must have been really nice. I enjoy attending Alanon conventions as well. Glad to know you got some recovery. The meetings are awesome and ongoing. What a treat!
