In today's reading from courage to change, the topic is having a backup plan when making plans with someone who is unreliable. I like the reading, and I usually like most of them. I think there's something to be learned from them, no matter how many times I've already read them
I especially like the focus on putting time and energy into things that the author can control. The alcoholics drinking is not something that the author can control, but having a backup plan is something within the author's control. I also appreciated the reminder that I don't have to be miserable just because my loved one is making the choices that they are making.
I hope everyone has a lovely day

THANK YOU Skorpi for doing a daily!! Wonderful to see, and I'd love to share on this. I also read 11/4, and recalled when I reached the point of not putting all my eggs in one basket. For many years, I depended on others to get me through my day. And what a disaster that was. As I began recovery, and learned about putting the focus on myself, I learned that I can be my own best friend. If others join me, that's great. But I started not only having a plan B, but plan A was often just me. I have friends and family I love spending time with, but I have reached a point of being content alone (me and my dog). My spouse is in early recovery, and life is still quite a challenge. But I am grateful for the tools of this program, and all the people that help me along my journey. :)
