This day's reading is talking about faith and hard work, i.e.: Sticking with the program and how after time (each person has a different time table)
we begin to get the sense that the serenity and understanding we have been seeking is at hand.We each have a different method, ability and
environment we work within, but results of our daily reading, attending F2F meetings, coming here to this forum and leaning on our HP proves
that the program works when we work it. Those results may come a little at a time, but perseverance, progress and faith are the keys.
Todays Reminder: "We are often reminded to keep coming back." "Today I will remember that this not only applies to meetings, but to learning
the new attitudes and behavior that are the long-term benefits of Al-Anon recovery." "I may not see the results today, but I can trust that I am
making progress."
Todays Quote: "Try to be patient with yourself and your family." "It took a long time for the disease of alcoholism to affect each and every one
and it may take a long time for everyone to recover." ~ Youth and the Alcoholic Parent
Sticking with the program by reading daily and coming here to MIP has kept my progress for serenity moving forward.I falter sometimes and try
hard not to be too disappointed because when I falter I learn something new about me so that I can move forward again. Sharing my ESH about
those hard times not only helps me but others as well!! I also was reading in ODAT today that the disease of alcoholism for the alcoholic and those
around them has its ups and downs and the program allows for those down times to be able to learn and pick oneself up, learn from it and persevere
with faith!!
What are your thoughts on your progress and results since joining Al-Anon?
TGIF!!

Debbie thank you for your service and enlightening share. I can remember walking into my very first F2F meeting 10 years ago and hoping for relief before I walked out. LOL, I had no idea about the damage done to me, the damage I was doing, and how long it would take to feel better. But I did keep coming back, I do try very hard to take what I learn here and apply it to my life, and I am truly a better person for it. And this program allows us to make mistakes, and encourages us to learn from them. One of my favorite slogans: Progress not perfection.:)
