Today's page highlights how Tradition #3 contributes to the unity of the program by requiring only that members have a relative or friend suffering from alcoholism, and there be no other affiliations within the group. 

In a world increasingly divided by a lengthening list of issues, Alanon is an incredible sanctuary of peace and support for people from all backgrounds, at times with just alcoholism in a loved one in common. 

This is maintained by keeping topics like religion, politics, social issues, or alternative therapies/treatments outside of the rooms. 

Reminder - Alanon comes with no demands or strings, we should keep this spirit alive as we pass it along to others.

This is an amazing gift of Alanon, without which I would not have stayed long enough to find the tools and gems of the program. For the groups who uphold it this is truly a social miracle that allows harmony and recovery for all, a true unity of the moment. 

This has given me an opportunity to see that we all can suffer from this disease, regardless of background, religion, social or political orientation; we are all just children of god in the sense of basic spiritual need. 

The wisdom of Alanon is here for everyone, and it works if I work it. Grateful for the wisdom and guidance

Peace on earth--I'm not sure we will achieve this during my lifetime, but it is truly remarkable that alanon accepts all who have one commonality--recovery from alcoholism. And it is a bond that we can all understand and relate to, no matter what other factors define us. Grateful member.
