Todays reading is about how we might create space for serenity in our lives. We can exercise, get sound sleep, go to meetings, and connect with others in order to foster serenity. The writer also suggests making peace with our past and staying peaceful. How does it happen that we push serenity away? The writer describes that sometimes there is a stubbornness about being willing to surrender. I think about this when I think I can influence the outcome of something beyond my control.
Todays reading was a reminder to me that while theres so much out of our control, we can do specific things to have a foundation of serenity in our lives. Within the first paragraph of todays page: I cant will serenity, but I can create an environment where its more likely to blossom. The writer describes a favorite prayer: God, please help me be willing to be willing. I have found myself praying this thought: Help me to take in the good and positive into my life and put out the good and positive as well.
I think another positive behavior we can work at to create space for serenity are the boundaries we establish in our lives. We have no obligation to continue to interact with people who bring chaos or angst to our lives.
The Thought for the Day gives us: My recovery either begins or ends with my degree or willingness.
I hope everyone enjoys a peaceful Sunday:)

Thank you Mary for this Sunday's reading and your service.
This board, on a daily basis, definitely points me the right direction when it comes to serenity.
My faith, love of the gardens around the house, my cat and reading literature create that peace
for me 95% of the time everyday. I totally agree with choosing to walk away from the chaos
because if there is one thing I learned well in Al-Anon is that self righteousness and self
justification perpetuate the chaos. {{HUGS}}

Good Afternoon Everyone. Thank you Mary for your service/ESH. We have splendid weather today and I've spent most of the morning outdoors. After a big lunch, a nap is in order so I'll have energy to watch baseball this afternoon. lol Thanks Debbie for reminding me of the wonderful world found in books. Have a great Sunday.
