Alanon = recovery = regaining something lost, so reminds today's contributor. Somewhere along our journey we lost belief or contact with that within and around us that can guide us through any challenge or trial...a higher power.
Important not is its definition or nature, but that it is greater than ourselves and is real to us. It is our higher power that is the bridge to our spirituality.
Reminder: As a spiritual creature I have faith, hope and appreciation of beauty...unlimited strength and comfort. I will take the time to cultivate this spiritual connection.
"Half an hour's meditation is essential except when you are very busy. Then a full hour is needed." - Frances de Sales --------------- Developing a higher power was very challenging for me, but a symbol and indicator of my growth in Alanon. I realized it didn't really matter what my hp was, as long as I was turning things outside of myself over to it.
It is in the act of giving up controlling actions to a higher power that I find spiritual serenity, and the act of taking them up that I lose it. Meditation is a great opportunity to reset this balance, one that I am reminded here to make time for.
Grateful for the wisdom of the program

Thank you Paul for your continued and appreciated service, today's reading and your ESH.
Just love these daily reminders and so agree that when I stay connected and meditate my ability
stay serene and strong is so much easier indeed. Grateful as well for the wisdom and support
of Al-Anon and MIP.

Thanks Paul for your service and all above ESH. I guess I didn't start out losing something--I never had it in the first place. Then about 30 years ago I came face to face with a higher power, and alanon just reinforces what I had discovered by myself. I can still chuckle at a friend I had who said anyone who believes in God is delusional. I keep my "delusion" close to me at all times!

Thank you Paul and ESH from all. The biggest struggle for me was letting go of my A for my HP to steer. Ive always been so good at handling situations, but alcoholism in others..nope! I can only work on being a better version of me. I love the reminder of meditating each day, also.

Thank you Paul for your service and all the shares. My natural spirit of adventure, humour, faith and gratitude has come back to life. It was buried under fear. Thanks to the wisdom of the Al-Anon program, I have the courage and help from people (in/out of program) to recover.
