Todays reading is about how we might accept (or choose to ignore) Gods will in our lives. The writer describes someone at a meeting who shared the belief that although God offers to reveal His will and what is best, she does not have to accept that. She can choose to keep going on her own and remain unhappy. The writer goes on to say that Al-anon is the choice she has made, through understanding HPs will that each day she has the option to accept or refuse it. She acknowledges that her best thinking, and living life on her own terms, created enough chaos to bring her to the program. She was not living in joy and serenity, but rather kept running into obstacles until she began accepting Gods will rather than force her own.
Two things came to my mind as I was reading this today: one is the saying about how insanity by definition is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. I dont like to think about how many times I have done exactly that. The other is that at some point letting go of thinking I had to control control control every aspect of my life and anyone near me went from uncomfortable and even anxiety-inducing to feeling free and having faith that all I needed was already provided to me.
I appreciate how the Thought for the Day sums this up: My Higher Power believes I deserve the very best and wants me to have it, if only I will reach out and take it.
I hope everyone enjoys a peaceful Sunday.

Thank you Mary from me as well for your service, today's reading and to you and TT for both your shared ESH!
I too agree with you both that trying to control everything was insane!! Relying on my HP for guidance and
accepting HP's gifts and help (even if I do not at the time understand or agree) always turn out to be in my
best interest. Trusting is the key for me for sure!! {{HUGS}} Happy Memorial Day and blessings to all who
