Incredibly humbling, yes, but even greater was the immense relief I glimpsed as I lengthened the list of things I was not responsible for trying to change.
The simplicity and power of this 1-2 punch still works: when I find myself feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or angry, a quick review of these steps allows me to see what I've added to my 'control' list that shouldn't be there.
The quicker I recognize and reassign to my higher power, the sooner my sanity is restored...grateful for the reminders

I am very grateful to Al-Anon for all the steps, but especially to those first two!!
I still struggle with, even after several years in Al-Anon, with those hurt/angry
feelings when AH goes at me, but recover so much more quickly when I remind
