Todays reading is about the importance of our relationship to the God of our understanding. The writer distinguishes between acknowledging the presence of God and actually finding a spiritual connection. Through prayer and meditation a more consistent relationship with God is established and days are enriched and feel more meaningful. The writer goes on to engage in a daily dialogue with his/her HP, sometimes in silent conversation, sometimes out loud or through journal writing. In these ways Gods presence is a part of daily life for the writer.
I have noticed that prayer has changed for me over time, sometimes in the form of a specific repetition of prayers I know while running, along with focused prayers for my family and friends, sometimes a quick thought of please help me see or thank You. When I have trouble chasing my thoughts around I notice that these words come to mind: youre ok, its ok- a calming mantra that helps me settle down a bit.
The quotation from Courage to Change (p.327) reminds us: I have an unlimited source of strength and comfort at my disposal. Today I will take the time to cultivate that spiritual connection.
I hope everyone enjoys a peaceful Sunday:)

Happy Sunday Mary and MIP family. Thank you for your service and the daily! I am blessed to believe in a power greater than me who truly does have a master plan for my life. I was raised with organized religion and just had so many questions/issues with believing that which I could not see/feel. I did walk away as it didn't work for me or feel right for many reasons.
I am so grateful to have found a spiritual way of life vs. religious. I am free to build my personal relationship with the God of my understanding in a way that works well for me. I am able to pray anytime I want, meditate to find strength, peace and direction and truly find my grace, joy and serenity.
I tuned in this morning for Joel Osteen, and the topic was 'Protect Your Peace'. It's another that aligns with my program and intent. If interested, you can find it here:

I'm grateful for the spiritual growth I've been able to achieve practicing this program. Enjoy the day all - find your joy and keep it!!
HP is such an integral part of my daily life and truly appreciate how Al-Anon teachings encourage the connection.
