Well... I guess I have a job. I have had to go through a lot of hoops to secure this contract. I still don't have "official" word that I have the position. But this afternoon FedEx brought two boxes of computer equipment to my door so I'm going to take that as official word. The job is through an outside recruiter but the client was very anxious to get someone started. He contacted me after the interview to get my address to send me the computer equipment. My recruiter had instructed me No Contact with the client. I was to ask all questions through the recruiting agency. She did tell me I could contact him and tell him I was in the onboarding process so I did. I gave him her name. He told me it was good to now have a contact so he "wouldn't go rogue." My interview with him was very relaxed and he seemed easygoing like my favorite former supervisor.
I actually have possible overlapping job offers. I did a zoom interview last week with a VP from another company. That job would be permanent. The connection with her while interviewing was not quite as positive. Perhaps because she holds a much higher position with her company, the interview was much more formal. I have no idea whether she liked me or not. I did interview well but I have a lot of experience and would expect to be paid well. She told me at the end of the interview that I was her first interview and that she was interviewing all of this week. Honestly, I can't get in her head and know what she was thinking but my gut tells me . I sent a nice thank you email and tried to let her know how I might add value based on points in our conversation. The job title was a bit dumbed down for amount of responsibility whereas the contract job has an elevated title, amazing pay and involves very little mental exertion. And.. the boss is fun!
Could the delivery today be hp showing me where hp wants me to be? :) I'm looking forward to setting my home office up again. Only a few months without work and I'm already bored.
How about you? Do you have good news to share? TT

How wonderful TT! I am so pleased to read of your abundance. Congratulations and enjoy! I really like the sound of the role having little mental exertion, and I for one, still get very excited at receiving fedex boxes. I send wishes for this transition to continually flow with ease. Hugs!
