...I have a sponsee now. In a different part of the country- but we zoom.
My hunch is- to see newcomers do their steps 2 and 3 within the group.
To find their higher power. To shake down our belief systems.
This is not something I am telling Alanon to do! Au contraire.
it is just a personal choice- that I ask a sponsee for- before embarking on Step 4.
I read and followed the old-timers a lot. "Lois Remembers was a bible for me...
...what were their secrets? Very open secrets, really.
Sunny day here... but major floods further north...
Steadying up after a big weekend...

...from the inside, looking out.
Hell on earth- for most of my life. Death warmed up.
My mum loved horse, and most animals. She often said that certain horses, and dogs, were ruined, most usually by their treatment from men.
When she told me that- I was certain that this applied to kids as well. .
Looking at C-PTSD... ...the words "impulse control" it not a real fancy word.
But it does describe the condition...
I was a real hard worker- a real slogger sometimes. But my mum once called me a lazy little B*****.
Maybe just the one time- maybe a lot more. They say that 'the first cut is the deepest'.
And yeah- maybe I was being lazy at just that moment. ??? A global response... to a local issue.
Anyway- I was hard at it from Saturday. It was grilling work. But the involvement paid off.
I have beans- all dried to pick. I picked up the last of my feijoas.
Today i can do relaxing interesting things.
Even a bit of reading- and some computer time.
Huh?

Thank you for reminding me of Lois Wilson. I came to really live and adore Lois. I am in so much admiration for what se achieved in her life. Her senss of purpose was a great driving force.
Learning about someone who went from intense helplessness (which I can certainly relate to) to a spiritual transformation and a clear purpose is very helpful

Hi David,
Thank you as well for sharing and I believe your sponsee is very lucky to have you as their sponsor!!
I do love gardening and often go way overboard in that department
Plant mostly flowers, so enjoy hearing about your vegetable growing.

David thanks for your open and honest share and yeah sometimes the cut that you get first is the worst. Growing up, I felt like he had a razor blade in his hand and just would slice at us piece by piece leading us out slowly. If it wasnt for the program I wouldnt even be here. So God must have a purpose for me. As I begin to love and accept myself as is, I am better at sharing that with others. I have complex PTSD as well and it is hell on earth to live with. I manage it with meditation and working step three making myself be mindful and in the present and being with my breath
