Upon awakening, I think about the twenty-four hours ahead. I consider my plans for the day. Before I begin, I ask God to direct my thinking. I read from Courage to Change and from another book. Then, I reach into my god-box and pull out a word or sometimes it's a slogan. Today is was Easy Does It...But Do It. I like the last three words because sometimes I can misinterpret Easy Does It to mean Don't Do It. Adding that last part helps me remember to Do whatever it is, just don't Over-Do it. I worked today and when I work I do twelve hour shifts. I'm taking it easy and I'm getting through it. I like my job but I'm looking forward to getting home.

Hi Wolfie 55, I relate to all that you said about your God Box, what I have done is typed out the Just For Today Card, [as I really relate to that] then the Slogans, put them in a lovely jar, and just reach in and pick out 2 for the Day, they would be my mantra for the day. It also works if I am having struggles with life and need some extra direction from My HP. It's amazing of how it helps and works.
Also, when I was attending Al-Anon meetings, we use to do the same, and make a little bag, and call it the Serenity Bag. Each one of us would pick one out of it, sometimes, that was what the meetings were on, but once again, everyone said of how much they helped them. I always enjoy your sharings.
Love Wendy P.

Thanks Wolfie for the reminders of how to awake the program way!!! I too start my day in prayer, asking for HP to lead me and direct me, setting aside my own will and ego in preference of his. I am one who does best with routines and will admit I'm a bit 'off' because of the clock change! It doesn't change what I do or when I do, just was different today as it took a longer while for my sunrise to happen...(((Hugs)))

I had a little chuckle at the re-interpretation of "easy does it", having a similar hearing myself when I'm about to or am in relapse. The thinking if not arrested will get one every time. Thank you for the lovely share.
