Today's contributor focused on the great value of AlAnon Conference Approved Literature (CAL) in our recovery. It is a resource we can access 24/7 when a meeting, sponsor, or program friend may not be available.
Not just for crisis, these pages offer wisdom and guidance straight from the source, often searchable by topic. The contributor chose to condense the daily message into sentence or two to carry and reference.
Reminder: I have a wealth of healthy, life changing recovery material, I will use it today and make it a part of my routine. --------------------- What I heard in the rooms and online resources didn't always resonate, but the messages in CAL were impactful from the beginning. At my first meeting I obtained daily ODAT, Courage to Change daily readers to dig into these new concepts...I wanted more. I soon added Paths to Recovery to understand the Steps and what it meant to 'work' them.
The written material was, and still is, the biggest part of my recovery. The dailies are still part of my morning meditation and offer the chance to start my day in a healthy direction, and reminders of what to do when it strays.
In Alanon there is always a choice, always hope, and I am never without resources...they are just a page turn or click away. So grateful

Thank you for your share. Moments ago I read todays meditation, then I read your post. I have a busy day ahead and could have easily said Ill read the meditation later. I know the negative consequences of later and the positive consequences of now. Im glad now was prioritized.

Thank you Paul for your service, today's reading and yours and PK ESH this morning.
So glad that we are all here to read and discuss the Al-Anon literature daily, it means so
much to be able to continually grow each day with the MIP membership.

Thanks Paul for your service and all the shares this morning. What I love about the CAL, is that no matter what book and page I turn to, most of the time I either relate to it or learn something from it, or both. How can you go wrong with that?!

Happy Tuesday MIP! Thank you Paul for your service and the daily. Thanks to all for the ESH & shares. I have found so many answers and helpful shares in the CAL and am so, so grateful. It helps me to focus on one issue, one area or one promise and stay tuned for more to be revealed.
I make sure I read something from our literature every day. Some days, it is as simple as a daily/two and other days, it's more. I do know that no matter what I am feeling when I reach for my CAL, I still feel better/relief after. It's like a mini-meeting for my mind...
Enjoy this day all - sun is shining in my world and I am off to the golf course shortly. Make it a great day!

Hiya everyone.
There's been times where I read in my daily readers and then realize I was on the wrong date. It's always amazing that it always seems to be just exactly what I needed to read though. There's something helpful regardless.
I read daily, every morning actually. In the hopes that it will make my day better in some way, which it usually does.
I do love coming here and discussing what we read, it is always so helpful.

Thanks Paul- and y'all... ...
I have a chef of Alanon literature- and a fair bit of AA as well. But I stick to CAL in our groups.
Another shelf below that one- with all sorts of stuff. But again, when in Rome we do what the Romans do.
I thought the slogans, initially, were corny. And on the way through I struggled to keep to them- for fear
of being "pulled up" about it. However most members are really kind- when it comes to keeping members
on track. At this end of the journey I realise why that stable of slogans was selected. I can reflect, now, on
progress to date.
I can relate my Alanon journey to all those other materials. And there is absolutely no shame in that!
But the card "Alanon spoken here" helps us all to keep on track, and for all of us to be on the same page. ...
