In the preamble to AA the sentence is #many of us tried to find an easier softer way#
Most certainly many of my relationships with alcoholics were about trying to find an easier softer way.
I pursued the whole notion of this vision of an easier softer way even when the relationship with the alcoholic was extremely difficult and full of crisis. At one point the alcoholic had made some measure towards having an easier softer way and Inhwld into that like a dinghy.
These days when I am negotiating through relationships I have far less illusions. I can certainly detach but I can also recognize there are some relationships I do not want to pursue.
Of course in my head strong days I was not going to acknowledge that because I had little capacity to meet my needs.
Naturally I knew of no other alternative but to look to others to help me.
Now I know different thanks to al anon

Today I discoverdd my TV monitow was.broken during ny move
I am so bogged down with bills I am unlikely to be a le be able to replace it for a while. The replacemwnt bei cheapes one. Simoly wqy oo many bills. I keep trying to find.ways to cut back on working. No go so far.
It is real hard to stay disciplined under such duress.

I agree after having gone thru some of this myself recently. I did some patching on hard drive with tape imagine. Patience is one of the most admirable tools from my HP cause it helps me to keep the frustrations down and try and do better. (((hugs)))
