When Betty passed away, I felt like the entire bottom of this boat got blown away...Didn't know what to do or what to think, didn't know if I even wanted to hang out here at all.
But BOTH of you have done such a great job, not taking her place as that is hers, noone could do that, but you two have filled her space as good as anyone could....
I just wanted to say thank you both for your service and your great attention to us Al-anons that need that safety and continuity and support like you all give...
I know I am "next door" mostly as co-moderator, but I want to say I truly love this board and feel very loved when i come here...
God bless and may we all get through these trying times, 2020 has been one hell of a rocky year, but we are in this together...yes we are!!!!!

Rose, that is so kind of you! I can only say that whatever service I do in Al-Anon, I receive so much more from it. I like to say that I am paid in "Serenity bucks" and in not being alone.

Thank you Rose for your kind words - I am always reminded that '.....it takes a village.' MIP carries on because we all do our part to be of service to each other. Freetime - I could not have said it better. I'm amazed at what I 'get' in return for service to MIP and beyond.
I vehemently agree that 2020 has been a challenge. I can say that it's been a year I would never want to do again. The gift this program has given to me is instead of holding on to fear, sadness, etc. I just keep living one day at a time and look for the lessons. Love and light all...

I am also grateful to you both for stepping in after the tragic death of Betty. Those were very big shoes to fill. Indeed i am very grateful for this board
One of Betty's core foundation techniques was to be grateful. I could not understand where that came from. Betty was passionate about it
Today i.am grateful for many things but I.am not counting on anything either. Nothing is promised
I keep doing the next right thing every day.
I miss Betty very much. I know she led a very productive life and had much joy in her life. Nevertheless she was such a solid and welcoming presence on this board it was always a relief to come here. It still is.
Thank you again
Maresie

Oh yeah, Maresie , Betty really turned me onto the practice of gratitude and it is very powerful energy.
