Having this group here, and the MIP groups generally has been a great boon for me. It has taken me beyond the possible... as it was...
...I needed 3 or 4 meetings a week at times- and had none.
The bonus here is that we have some of the high motivation members- from different corners of the world. With a wide and divergent range of group experience.
The sun is just streaming in here- Monday morning. I have done the breakfast dishes and our national radio is humming, in the corner.
He have two grand-kids here for four days- and they are off to school.
I no longer have the deep sense of dread- about what might happen next. I am sensible, and realistic... about what life's chances are.
But it is good to live in the moment. Real good!
I like to push the boundaries gently. About how many shares I might have- on the one thread. This is not face to face- but I felt there has to be some sort of discipline. Respecting the group space, if not the group time.
Do I discuss my own business issues? And personal relationship issues.
I sense that a few of us discuss the latter- or mention them- through personal messaging.
Others do not. This is a personal choice, and all respected.
I grew up in a rural community- where there were very few secrets. Yet, at the same time there was a very strong ethic- with some people, at least. Community and families closed ranks around some situations, at least.
Being an adult child in Alanon- I have looked for norms and boundaries. Tested them sometimes- in a way my family would not allow. And inside of this matrix managed for find some sense of self. ...
This has been a good starter. Moved me beyond a care-seeking role- more towards self-cure. More healing, anyways... ...
I love the sense of group teamwork... group unity... and a sense of purpose.
Puts body and gentle force into a sense of group conscience. Something that underpins teamwork.
And a sense of fun and relax too, sometimes... ... ... ...

I hoped you enjoyed your Monday, David! I always love reading your shares... right now, it is wonderful to hear what reads as a "normal" life... a pre-COVID life! I know NZ dealt with the pandemic, and I know that your country mourns their people who passed... but dang, your country handled this well, and are already living "normal" life!! I am both envious and loving your reality.
I too, feel immense gratitude for this community! &
